Beginning the fall of 2017, U-Passes will be available for all North Park students. The U-Pass resembles a traditional Ventra card, but they provide unlimited access to CTA buses and trains. The passes are valid for all students enrolled in at North Park full-time during the school year. When school is not in session, U-Passes turn into traditional Ventra cards where you will be able to load funds online or at the machines at CTA stops, and are valid for up to five years.
You won’t have to worry about continuously having to put more money on your Ventra card anymore, or buying tickets all the time, you can just use your U-Pass for free. The cost for the U-Pass will be included in all students' tuition. A lost or stolen U-Pass is $50 to replace and can be done at North Park in Student Services. There are currently 44 universities in Chicago who have U-Passes for students, including the neighboring Northeastern University, but North Park has never offered the service before. With your new U-Pass, you can enjoy and explore the great city of Chicago without being restricted by a tight budget.
